Wine Review & Rating: Chez Ray Meritage, 2005
By way of background, this is Chez Ray Meritage, 2005, made of 40% zinfandel, 40% petite sirah and 20% pinot noir.
In the glass, it is medium deep burgundy.
On the nose, it shows deep oak and red fruit.
On the palate, the fruits are red and rounded in the mid-palate, definitely showing oak along the edges. A bit of soft charcoal at the finish, which is shorter but clean.
Overall, pleasant mid-red experience, rates three stars on the Spirit of Wine scale.
