Rating: ***+ 2004 Chez Ray Viognier, Lodi CA

Review: Color of this wine is a clean, transparent honey. The aroma does leap from the glass, pushing butterscotch, chardonnay-style fruit and mellow pineapple. On the palate, it is sweet, simple, fruity, with a touch of oak and a modest finish. Very pleasant, not wholly memorable.
